Volunteers,
Donations, and Tours
Volunteers:
We are
always looking for volunteers to help year round with
productions. We need people to do many things, not all involve
sewing. We need designers, seamstresses, crew members (to pull
costumes from stock, or purchase items), and folks to be backstage
to help actors with their costumes.
Here is a list of the 2008-2009
Volunteers Needed!!

Donations:
Much of our rental stock is made from donated items. We
are always in need of items such as men's dress shirts and pants,
and anything vintage (1960's or earlier) and anything in a large
size.
We also run a year-round fundraiser selling items online
that are too delicate to use as costumes to collectors or
historians. To
see some of our items on sale, visit Dorothea's Closet Vintage.
100% of the money raised from selling collectible items goes to the
general fund at the Spencer Community Theatre.
Please email
us if you have items you think we may be interested in. At
this time, we do not have the staff available to do pick ups, but
feel free to ask if you have special circumstances.
Tours
and Workshops: Our staff would be happy to give a tour of
our facility to any school or community group. Tours usually
can be set up to last 20-40 minutes. Workshops are also
available. We can design a workshop for you if time allows, or you can choose
from some that we do on a regular basis. For school groups now
we have two: "Costume Design as a Profession" and
"The Costume". Each take about 15-30
minutes.
