Halloween

We
will be closed during our usual daytime hours in October. If you are
coming for a theatrical production, please feel free to make
an appointment for a time we are not open for Halloween customers so that we can
assist you.
You have two options for getting Halloween costumes at SCT:
Purchasing:
We have over
1,200 items available for sale this year. Prices are somewhat less
than our rental charges, at $20-35 average per full
costume. A good option if you:
- will
be going to a bar or
an outdoor party for Halloween.
- are
looking for kids items.
- want
to pick something out early without paying extra week
rental charges.
Our
purchasing policies are as follows:
- No
personal checks. Cash, debit or credit cards only.
- No
refunds. No exchanges. All sales final.
Renting:
We
will still offer our Halloween rentals. Please note
our open hours above. Renting is a good option for
you if you:
- are
attending an in-home party or other indoor event.
- are
willing to spend $30-50 on average per costume.
- are
looking for a "theatrical" costume. We have many
"character" items such as flappers, gangsters,
western, vintage, cultural, etc. We do not
carry a large number of children's, scary, or sexy costumes. Here
are some links to purchase items we do not carry.
Rental Period: Our rental period is
one week.
If you rent on a Tuesday, for example, your costume will be due
back by the following Tuesday. If you want your costume longer than one
week, each additional week rental is 75% OFF the rental
charge. There are no reservations.
If you want a costume held for you, the additional week
rental charges still apply. There are no discounts
for partial weeks.
Returning
Your Costume: We do not have a drop box. You must
be prepared to bring your costume back in person during
our open hours.
Rental Charges: All of our costumes are priced by the piece, with accessories at
$3-7 each and costume pieces at $6-20 each. The total
for a full costume usually averages $30-40. Few
elaborate costumes can run $50-85.
Cleaning Charges: There is a 15% cleaning fee added to all rentals except props and
purchased items. Extended Rental Charges: Each additional week's (or partial week's) rental
is discounted by 75% off the first week's rental charge.
Reservations: We do not
reserve costumes. If you would
like to come early (before the week of your party) to
rent a costume, you simply pay the extra week rental
charge to
have it ahead of time.
Picking
out your costume: It
can be VERY difficult to
choose a costume for a person who is not present and
have it fit properly.
Please look for our measurements
page to take measurements and show them to the staff to help
choose a costume for them.
Deposit: Due to the high rate
of unreturned costumes in the past, we now require a
credit card deposit on ALL costumes. We will
run an authorization on your card.
Renters under 18: We will no
longer rent costumes during October to anyone under 18 years
of age. If you need a costume for an event or school project
during October, please bring an adult with you. Anyone
may purchase sale items.Payments
accepted: Cash, Credit or Debit NO PERSONAL CHECKS. All
rental fees and additional week fees are due when you
pick out your costume. Refunds:
There
are NO REFUNDS.
Shop
Info:
- Our
costume shop is basically a warehouse for our
costumes. Children are welcome, but we recommend
coming without small
children if you can.
- Due
to our play schedule, there may not be a bathroom
available to customers during our open hours.
