Fun With Fairy Tales
(Ages 4-5)
Through the interactive exploration of classic fairy tales, students will
recreate characters, settings, and the elements of a story through imaginative
play, creative movement and storytelling. Each week will feature a new story,
which will be made available to parents and caregivers.
I’m a Pirate! (Ages 4-5)
Ahoy, mate! Beware
the pirates that lurk in the theatre of the SCT Playhouse!
Pirate crafts, skits, stories, games, costumes, and props are used to
develop this theatrical theme class for both boys and girls.

Animal Tales (Ages
5-6)
Aesop's fables meet The Lion King! Act out tales from our furry friends. Create new stories and original adorable characters. Use imagination, gain basic performance skills, and have fun. A four-legged acting adventure!
Tuesdays, 2-3 p.m.

Creating Oz (Ages 6-8)
This class focuses on creating and playing in the world and characters
from the beloved classic “Wizard of Oz.”
We’ll have fun learning the popular songs, developing improvisational
skills, and dressing as characters from the show!

So You Want to be an Actor? (Ages
8-10)
Basic acting skills are taught in this class, such as
speaking on stage, working with others, creating characters, and improvising
scenes in an encouraging environment. While
they are learning students gain the confidence to have fun on stage without
fear.

Filmmaking
Class (Ages 9-15)
Filmmaking Class will introduce students to the joys of scriptwriting and
filmmaking! Students will create
stories, develop character, scout locations, and film their work to share at
the Summer Showcase at the end of the summer.

Musical Theatre Class (Ages 10-13)
Musical Theatre Class offers children a chance to explore the world of musical theatre through theatre exercises and games that develop the verbal and movement skills needed in the performing arts. Includes an introduction to acting, voice, movement, storytelling, and improvisation.
Comedy
Skit Creation & Improvisation (Ages
12-15)
Improvisation is an
art form that allows students to express themselves through movement, facial
expressions and dialogue they create. In this class students will create, act,
react, and respond in the moment. During the Summer Showcase students will
share what they have created with an invited audience.

Advanced
Acting (Ages 15+)
An
acting class for teens interested in taking their acting chops further! The
students will participate in a wide range of acting exercises, improvisations,
movement, and vocalization techniques for the stage. The class will culminate
in performances of short plays during the Summer Showcase.

3:15-4:15 p.m.

Scholarship
Audition Techniques (Students
going into Jr. or Sr. year)
This
class is specifically for students going into their junior or senior year of
high school who plan to audition for a college theatre scholarship.
SCT Artistic Director Cara Gerlock will be leading the class, which
will focus on selecting the appropriate material, preparing the audition
pieces, and handling the audition process.

Summer Showcase performances
will take place 7 p.m. on Friday, July 31.
Students are still able to participate in classes even if they are
unavailable for the Summer Showcase.
